Cantemo Introduces Major Upgrades to Media Management Solution, Cantemo Portal, at IBC 2018

Stockholm, Sweden, 9th August 2018 – Cantemo (http://www.cantemo.com), a provider of next-generation media management solutions, is to offer a pre-release preview of the latest version of Cantemo Portal, its media management platform, at IBC 2018.

Cantemo Portal 4.0 features core upgrades, improving the simplicity of file transfers and downloads, and offering better control over user access. The latest version of the solution features upgrades to Elasticsearch, Python and Django. This includes API support for Elasticsearch aggregations, making searching and indexing even the largest of content libraries simple, quick and accurate.

Improvements to Cantemo Agent are central to the latest version of Portal, focusing on Single Sign-On (SSO) support in the Agent, accelerated file transfer using Aspera, and increased feature parity between Cantemo Agent for Windows and Mac. The Agent is also now capable of limiting bandwidth consumption, as well as the number of concurrent transfers. There is now better interaction between the Agent and the main Cantemo Portal 4.0 system which results in live reporting of transfer-job statuses. Users will also be able to retry uploads and downloads in the case of errors, and pause, resume or cancel transfers that are in-progress.

“IBC is one of the biggest show in our calendar so we’re really pleased that we’ll be able to offer preview demos of Portal 4.0 at this year’s show. The newest updates are a huge improvement to the efficiency of management workflows, especially our Cantemo Agent updates. The update doesn’t just make it easier to transfer files, it makes it quicker and more cost-effective thanks to the Agent’s ability to limit consumption of bandwidth during transfers,” commented Martin Fellbrink, Product Manager, Cantemo.

In addition, Portal 4.0 introduces better control and more granular access-management for administrators. New roles have been added which means administrators can more finely manage which users, or groups of users, have access to certain content or features.

Fellbrink added: “The latest upgrade to Portal is an important step in ensuring that we keep the foundation of the solution modernized, which will allow us to continue building next generations features using the latest technology. Portal 4.0 provides considerably better performance for users thanks to the latest update, which we are sure will greatly benefit the efficiency of our customer’s workflows.”

Cantemo will demonstrating Cantemo Portal, as well as iconik, its cloud-based hub for managing video, at IBC 2018 between September 14th-18th at stand #7.D67. Contact info@cantemo.com to arrange a meeting.

About Cantemo

Cantemo was established to lead the revolution for next generation Media Asset Management. Its founders, with years of experience behind them, could see a trend emerging for the creation and use of video extending beyond traditional broadcast. This meant that the existing MAM systems would no longer meet the demands of a rapidly evolving market.
